Above is our old concept and art style. The concept was done by Miguel Robledo. Our previous art style was more in the ship debris side while being dark, industrial, and bleak. The whole game was going to be played through the debris while interacting with planets and stars.
Above is the new concept and art style. The concept was done by Miguel Robledo. Our new style is colorful, and more playful. The game will contain various objects floating around and being affected by gravity just like the briefs. Ultimately we loved both styles so we plan to use the new concept for interiors and use the first concept we had for the exteriors. By keeping both styles we can show the complete opposite of the dark and bleak atmosphere we have in the playable levels.
So to start blocking out and getting a feel for the new levels that will be in the interior I quickly modeled some boxes in the silhouettes that we will need for the levels. I made sure to keep scale in mind which is why you see Robo_O in the scene.
